Table Talk: where the conversation happens
A running chat you can dip in and out of, whenever suits you.
Write a post on your own profile, in a group, or out to the whole Society. Comments are nested, so a reply stays with the thing it’s replying to and you’ll never lose the thread of a good debate.
Want to know what everyone thinks? Pop in a poll and let the votes roll in. Share photos as easily as you’d share a few words. If something doesn’t feel right, use the report button and I’ll take a look, and I’ll pin anything you shouldn’t miss to the top.

Your place at the table
A profile that feels like you, not a form you had to fill in.
Add a photo and a cover image, then fill in your profile fields: as much or as little as you like. It’s how the rest of us find out who’s who and who to ask about sourdough.
You’re in charge of the details. Choose how you’re notified and who sees what, so you only ever share what you’re comfortable sharing. Other members can like or follow your profile, which is a lovely way to keep up with the people whose cooking you admire.

Little tables for shared passions
Every good supper has a table in the corner where a particular kind of conversation happens.
Groups are ours. Join one for your particular obsession, whether that’s bread, barbecue or bulk-cooking for a busy week. Inside a group you can post updates, share photos and keep the discussion nicely focused.
Follow a group to see its posts in your stream, ask to be notified when something new appears, or have the updates land in your inbox. Group admins look after the membership and pin the important posts, so it stays friendly and easy to follow.

A quiet word, or a proper natter
Message any member directly and chat in real time.
Need to double-check an ingredient, or work out who’s bringing the pudding? Send a message and keep the conversation going as it happens, just like the chat apps you already use.
Share photos or reach for a GIF (a collapsed soufflé is sometimes the only possible reply). You’ll get a notification when something arrives, and you can tune your settings to suit how much chat you want in your day.

Seat someone next to you
Found a member whose cooking you adore? Say hello properly.
Send a friend request, accept the ones that come your way, and build up a friends list of your favourite people in the Society. Friends can chat privately and keep up with each other’s news.
Not ready for a full friendship? You can simply follow a member to see what they’re getting up to in the kitchen. It’s your table, so you decide who sits where.

Not sure where to start?
Three easy ways to feel at home in the Society, in the order most people find easiest.
- Tell us who’s at the table – Add a photo and fill in your profile, so people know who they’re talking to.
- Say hello – Post in Table Talk. Introduce yourself and tell us what you’re cooking this week.
- Find your people – Join a group that matches your passion and send a friend request or two.
Your seat is waiting
The best suppers are the ones we share.
